The 2012 International Conference on Engineering Education and Management Innovation (ICEEMI 2012)

The conference will take place in Changsha, November 3-4, 2012. The objective of this Conference is to offer a meeting point for professionals and researchers from industry and academia to present and discuss recent advances in the field of Education and Management.
 
The conference will also foster cooperation among organizations and researchers involved in the merging fields and will provide in-depth technical presentations with ample opportunities for one-on-one discussions with the presenters. All papers, both invited and contributed, will be refereed by two or three referees. After a strict refereeing process, all accepted papers will be published in the Open Access.IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering(Click for more details) (Print ISSN: 1757-8981, Online ISSN: 1757-899X, MSE is part of IOP Conference Series). All accepted papers will be abstracted and indexed in EI Compendex, Elsevier Scopus, Inspec, etc (Click for more details)  (Examples of EI Compendex). All papers published in IOP Conference Series are fully citable and will be free to download. Authors may be interested to know that IOP Conference Series now receives in excess of 2.3 million article downloads per year. In addition, about 100 selected excellent papers will be published in SCI journals.

The 2nd International Conference on Business Intelligence and Global Informatization (BCGIn 2012) will be held in Shanghai in 12-14, October 2012, collaberated by Shanghai University and University of Kentucky. It will bring together researchers, educators, and business practitioners in the areas of business computing and global informatization to exchange ideas and explore innovations. Following the success of BCGIn 2011 in Shanghai, BCGIn 2012 will introduce new ideas in business computing and information science. The goal of the conference is to advance and promote business computing in the age of global informatization. 

此為國科會針對科技計畫書的研習訓練，深深吸引得我，是開宗明義的「科技研發只是手段，造福社會才是目的」。此話，也讓我們台灣博士養成教育可深深反思的一句話。
      

擴增實境（Augmented Reality，簡稱 AR），是一種實時地計算攝影機影像的位置及角度並加上相應圖像的技術，這種技術的目標是在螢幕上把虛擬世界套在現實世界並進行互動。擴增實境技術源自1960年代，電腦繪圖先鋒蘇澤蘭（Ivan Sutherland）和他在哈佛大學與猶他大學的學生，早已開發出第一套系統。1970與80年代，美國空軍阿姆斯壯實驗室、航太總署艾密斯研究中心，以及北卡羅來納大學教堂山分校等機構，有幾個人從事AR的研究。直到1990年代初，波音公司有幾個科學家才創造了「擴增實境」這個名詞，他們當時正在開發一種實驗性AR系統，協助工人裝配管線設備。隨著硬體成本下跌，一些必要的實驗室設備不再那麼昂貴，這10年來已經看見AR研究開花結果。從1998年起，科學家更是每年召開AR大會。(引自科學人)
何以稱為擴增實境，根據A survey of Augmented Reality這篇1997年paper的定義，Augmented Reality有三個要素：

Combines real and virtual 〈結合虛擬與現實〉
Interactive in real time〈即時互動〉
Registered in 3-D〈3D定位〉

第一次進行教師專業成長的活動，今日我被觀摩教學。而這種微型教學(micro teaching)是可以增長教師彼此的教學效能和專業。
被評鑑完的結果就是我的時間拿捏不太好，其是我應該設定明確主題，而不應該在一節課有認知活動和技能活動兩類！
我覺得應該擇一進行微型教學的，哈哈！但是沒關係，我覺得人生就是要enjoy每一種的可能^^

我今日學弟拿了別的實驗室的投稿需求，我想想人家的實驗是真有制度！有時候我覺得現在也卡在畢業前人人都會哀哀叫的SSCI、SCI、EI、TSSCI。但是我不經要問「I」只不過是就是收錄的資料庫索引，就是還不錯的期刊或研討會的文章！
有時候想是要培養出一個會思考的人重要？還是一昧尋求主流價值呢？有時候會想，為了迎合各種期刊的需求，將精力貢獻給予文章的產出，那試問還有多少精力去想思考的東西呢？
我還蠻喜歡洪榮昭教授所說與其追求SCI固然重要，但是另一種SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION INDEX(社會貢獻指標)更為重要？
寫文章可將理念傳於後世，但有時候我個人覺得理論不切實空背景所需，那只能束之高閣，無法改變世界！
